The Lancaster Country Club first opened for play in 1909 as a 9-hole course. The original course was redesigned by the Donald Ross Design Company in 1926, and has all of the character you would expect from a design that early. Gently rolling hills, mounded greens, and a design that fits with the surrounding land. In 1959 the course was exanded to 18 holes by renouned designer Jack Kidwell. In the 1980's the Donald Ross Society visited and offered direction on a redesign of the front 9 (Kidwell Side) that would make the two sides flow together.
The Lancaster Country golf course plays to a par-72 and a maximum distance of 6,657 yards. Lancaster Country Club that has hosted the following events:

The conditions this weekend (May 2-3) were great, greens with good pace, just a bit bumpy with poa annua growth. Group played in 3:40, starting on Sunday at 8:30 am. Older course with lots of Ross character on the back and Kidwell simplicity on the front.

For early in the year, in good shape. Greens need mowed, but it was only March 11!

Lancaster Golf Club is now a public course. While it has public course prices, it still has country club facilities. This is one of the finest courses in Central Ohio. It has been maintained beautifully. Greens are true. Fairways are wide, Bunkers are full of sand. Great blend of Donald Ross on the back and Jack Kidwell on the front. Tee times are easy to find at lancastergolfclub.com. It's 45 minutes from downtown Columbus and it will soon be discovered. Meantime take advantage of this course today.
